No, no programming is required.
After changing to 8686cxs in another forum, voltage, fan temperature and speed were not displayed. You can take this into consideration. Everything will work stably but the things I mentioned will not work.

Will a 8689E bxa or bxs work? also there are listings like 8689E without suffix how about these?

bxa or bxs work? - I don't have definite information on this subject but I need to try it. It sometimes works in new generations but different problems may occur. It is not a problem like short circuit. As I said, there may be some deficiencies.
